Open group Latin classes are held on Friday evenings from 8:00pm to 9:00pm Basic level steps will be taught in salsa and merengue. The open classes are designed to give you a basic vocabulary in each dance. For more advanced work in a group class situation, see our Intermediate/Advanced schedule of classes.
Intermediate/Advanced Group Classes
Intermediate/Advanced courses are designed for more experienced dancers. They are offered on Wednesdays from 8:00pm to 9:00pm. If you have taken our open sessions for one or two rotations, or have studied dance elsewhere, you may be ready for a more advanced class. Intermediate/Advanced Courses are not designed to teach you to dance. They are designed to expose you to new steps and patterns. You must have a foundation of basic steps and you must be able to keep up with the majority of the class. If you are not sure if you belong in an Int/Adv Course, please check with one of the instructors. Avoid the embarrassment of being asked to move to a beginning class. Partners are not necessary, but helpful. Women who come as singles should expect to learn both leader and follower parts.
Students who purchase pre-paid punch cards for intermediate/advanced class may attend the Wednesday Open/Beginning Class free of charge for review and extra practice.
